One of the first steps in treating any condition is an accurate diagnosis. In many cases, the starting point for doctors to make that diagnosis is to have clear, accurate images of the body. Saint Francis Healthcare's imaging centers and outpatient diagnostic imaging center offer a wide range of diagnostic services in a convenient and patient-friendly environment.

Diagnostic Imaging Services

Our imaging center is Medicare-certified and accredited by The Joint Commission. Services include (see below for descriptions):

  • CT scan

  • Bone densitometry
  • Fluoroscopic radiography
  • Diagnostic imaging/routine radiography

What kind of imaging services do I need?

MRI - Provides detailed images of the inside of the body using strong magnets and radio waves. 

CT Scan - Combines X-rays and computer scans to create images of the body. The result is a detailed picture that can show soft tissues, organs and bones.

Nuclear Medicine - Involves the use of small amounts of radioactive materials (or tracers) to help diagnose and treat a variety of diseases.

Ultrasound - Uses sound waves to form pictures of the body's interior.

Bone Densitometry - Uses low-energy X-rays to scan the lower back, hip or forearm. This helps to diagnose osteoporosis, a disease that weakens bones and makes them more brittle and susceptible to fracture.

Fluoroscopic Radiography - An X-ray that obtains real-time images of the body's internal structures.

Diagnostic Imaging/Routine Radiography - Uses a small amount of radiation to create X-ray images of bones and organs.
